We have had so many requests for black pipes that fit the VRSCDX Night Rod Special. We believe they turned out very well and match the Harley "matte black" almost perfect using high temperature powder coating. As most of you know the Night Rod Specials have very few after-market exhaust pipes available at this point because the bike is so new and what is available are very expensive. We still have the great look of the Turn Out style but now with baffles. These pipes have a great deep tone that are much louder than the stockers but AS loud as the non-baffled version. As far as volume goes...we rate them a 6-7 on a 10 scale and out straight pipes being a 10 at the loudest.
These Turn Out pipes are awesome looking and sounding, always generating compliments!. The top and bottom pipe are both 16 inches in length which totally hides the lower support bar.
The great thing about TAB pipes are the fact that they bolt on in 15 minutes and that includes taking off your factory pipes to switch them out. So that means that you can run you TAB pipes on the weekends or around town and when wanting to go on a road trip or quiet your VROD down with the stockers, just switch them back out. Your bike requires no additional hardware or drilling for installation and your factory pipe clamps and mounting points are all used. The factory pipe mounts, one on the top (passenger peg) and the bar on the bottom that are used to secure the stock pipes are use the same way to mount the TAB pipes.
We have had numerous questions asking if the bikes computer needs to be reprogrammed or re-mapped when running these pipes. Practically any exhaust changes that you make to the V-Rod require an air/fuel mixture correction to ensure the safety of the bikes engine. We now have the TAB Performance Fuel Manager ready to sell. This unit comes with pre-loaded maps that were created for all of the TAB Pipes after 300 dyno runs. The fuel manager is for sale on the home page.
