Loud Pipes / Tight Auto Tuner Installation |

Installed baffles slash cut slip-on pipes with Stage 1 kit (included new air filter and auto tuner) on my 2009 HD V Rod Night Rod Special (VRSCDX). Installation of mufflers was pretty quick and easy, just minor finagling to line everything up. The auto tuner was tricky. A YouTube video helped a lot, but without the topless mod I don't run, it gets really tight above the battery with the air intake and the auto tuner. Once installed everything worked well, and the auto tuner went into closed loop mood within two minutes. The pipes are loud and have the rumble the stock V Rod is sorely missing. They are louder than I expected. I wouldn't say they are two loud, but I've started weAring earplugs when I ride (which I should have always done anyway). First 50 miles or so experienced some backfires on deceleration but have now disappeared with a nice burble with mild decel pops. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the agreesive sound and performance, and recommend Tab Performance.
